In its 76th year, the Hamilton Hall Lecture Series on World Affairs continues the rich tradition of hosting internationally respected speakers.
This season the Series will be held virtually with eight lectures on Thursdays at 11 a.m. during the months of February and March. As is our tradition, there will be an opportunity for you to ask questions of our speaker, an important part of our Lecture Series. In addition, we are delighted to continue to offer a second option for enjoying the Lecture Series by replaying each lecture on the following Sunday at 5 p.m.
The Ladies Committee hoped that the Lecture Series could return live in the Hall in 2022. However, after extensive review, we regretfully concluded that because of the continuing uncertainty of Covid-19 and its impact, our best course would be to offer the lectures for remote viewing on Zoom. This decision was not made lightly. It takes into consideration the safety of our speakers, audience and volunteers during the eight weeks of the Series and some technical challenges in broadcasting from the Hall which will be resolved by 2023.
The Lecture Series’ operation depends almost entirely on volunteers. All proceeds go to Hamilton Hall for its maintenance and enhancement. During the ongoing uncertainty of Covid-19, your support of the Hamilton Hall Lecture Series is more important than ever as many revenue-producing events for the historic Hall have been curtailed or cancelled.
