Chestnut Street Revisited, Tour 2 - Upper Chestnut Street

Local historian and raconteur Jim McAllister dishes up a delicious “Chestnut Street Stew” featuring historical facts, architectural observations, and a heavy dose of colorful anecdotes culled from interviews, century - old written accounts of life in the neighborhood, and a variety of other sources.

Each of the two tours makes its own contribution to the flavor of Jim’s lively look back at the good - and not so good - old days on Salem’s most magnificent residential street. Tour 2 focuses on upper Chestnut Street, from Hamilton Street to Flint Street.
